Fairtex is world reknown for its top level Muay Thai fighters and now the best training center in the world is expanding into MMA. Our athletes have already fought in Bangkok, Manila, China, and other locations throughout southeast Asia. Headed by experienced Brazilian Jiu Jitsu professor Bruno Carvalho and Jason “Sparkplug” Burnworth, Fairtex is taking the MMA World by storm.
MMA classes run 5 days a week and last an hour and half per session. Each group class involves a dynamic warm up and then drills. Sparring occurs at least once a week while the other days involve improving wrestling, striking, and grappling.


Bruno Carvalho

Professor Bruno Carvalho is a third-degree black belt in Jiu Jitsu coming from Brazil. The accomplished MMA fighter has had 25 professional MMA fights and a solid career as a professional Muay Thai fighter in Thailand. He is a Cage Warriors veteran and is a world reknown Jiu Jitsu and MMA coach.


Our MMA facility is composed of a large matted area complete with floor to ceiling mirrors. The space includes a row of heavy bags and a full MMA cage. Our MMA area also includes several Maddox training dummies, shower facilities, and cold and hot baths.


What is MMA?

  • MMA or Mixed Martial Arts is a full contact combat sport. Athletes are allowed to strike and grapple. The primary disciplines trained by MMA fighters are Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu along with Boxing and Wrestling.

What is the training like?

  • Training for our MMA fighters is intensive. Our athletes follow a strict strength and conditioning routine that runs three days a week. There is a regular MMA specific session 5 days a week along with six days a week of Jiu Jitsu. In addition our MMA fighters will train Muay Thai several days a week.

  • Our MMA classes will involve a basic warm up and then sport specific drills. Every Friday is MMA sparring and fighters will be encouraged to hone their weapons against their teammates.

What is the level of MMA at Fairtex?

  • Our MMA fighters are mixed levels with some just having turned professional while others signed to top organizations such as One Championship. All of our MMA athletes are professional fighters.

Do you sponsor MMA fighters?

  • Fairtex does sponsor fighters. Candidates for sponsorship are required to send a resume of accomplishments, height, weight, video of previous fights etc. Candidates will be reviewed and replied to in turn. There are different levels of sponsorship as well. High level athletes in MMA are welcome to come visit the facility and train with us for free.

  • Sponsorship with Fairtex is a mutually beneficial relationship, it is not a donation.

Can I buy MMA gear at Fairtex?

  • We have a pro shop on site with all equipment necessary. Students can purchase mouth guards, gloves, hand wraps, shin pads, shorts and other equipment right at the gym.

Can I fight for Fairtex?

  • Fairtex does not guarantee it’s fighters bouts but we do our best to obtain matchups for our athletes. That said we do sponsor athletes and are proud to have elite level fighters fight for the brand. Fighters must be able to perform well in training in order to qualify to fight for Fairtex.
